The sources of current are the battery and the generator with a voltage regulator and charging current, which together with the control equipment form the power supply circuit of the vehicle's electrical wiring
The generator is driven by the engine crankshaft using a V-belt. Part of the electric power generated by the generator that is not used by consumers of current is sent to the battery, where it is accumulated and stored.
The most important consumers of electricity are:
a) starter:
b) ignition circuit, moderately glowing spark plugs (diesel engine);
c) lighting wiring together with direction indicators:
The original information is posted on the website VWManual
d) windshield wipers and sprinklers;
d) control and measuring equipment;
e) sound signal;
g) interior lighting;
c) additional equipment: heated rear window, air duct for fresh air supply, radio, etc.
