Removal the door handle (VW Golf 1)

Loosen the screw at the back, on the narrow side of the door (see picture).

The door handle is secured from the outside by a screw (1) located under the decorative trim (2), as well as a screw (2) at the end of the door.

The photo shows a door lock produced after October 1976: 1 - safety lever with sleeve (2); 3 - locking rotor; 4 - connecting rod; 5 - lever; 6 - screws; 7 - screw for outer door handle.

For models produced before October 1976: Pull the door handle slightly outward from the front, then remove it from the door leaf from the rear.

For models produced after October 1976: Use a narrow screwdriver to lift the decorative trim.

Remove the Phillips head screw from the front of the door handle; remove the handle.
