Adjustment of the sliding door of buses with increased cabin height (VW Transporter T3)

Only installation work is described here, which differs from similar work with a serial door. Before adjustment, all installation work for a serial door described above must be carried out.

Adjusting the flexible cable traction of the additional latch

The additional latch rattles.

The flexible rod is installed too tightly, the additional latch does not work.



(58-241) Fasten wire rod 1 and flexible rod 2 to the journal of connecting bar 3 and secure with washer 4.



(58-291) The additional latch pivot stop is pressed down in the direction of the arrow until it engages.



(58-292) Adjust the flexible rod so that when the rotary stopper is engaged, there is no play in the additional latch (double arrow).



When the flexible rod is installed correctly, the rotary stopper 15 and the slider 16 should completely overlap.

Adjusting the central lock pin bolt

The door is not adjusted in height.

The door is difficult to open and close, the turntable sits on a bolt with a pin.



(58-250) screw the bolt with a cotter pin 17, the flexible disk 18 and the threaded plate 19 to the mounting support 20 from the bottom outside. The edge projection of the flexible disk should face downwards.

Close the door.

Check the door's height position and, if necessary, measure the correction value.

Open the door and mark the correction value on the mounting support with a felt-tip pen.

Install the bolt with the cotter pin in the marked position, close the door and check the door height.

At the same time, check from the inside that the distance between the bolt with the cotter pin and the rotary stopper at the top is at least 1 mm, see Fig. 58-250.

Open the door.

If necessary, readjust the bolt position.

Close the door. Once again check the door installation height and the distance between the bolt with the pin and the rotary stopper.

Open the door, tighten the bolt with a pin to a torque of 50 Nm.
