Removal
Remove the trim on the driver's side.
Remove the brake light switch/brake pedal switch.
Unscrew the brake light switch holder.
Disconnect the brake pedal from the brake booster.
Remove the support on the bracket through which the booster push rod passes (Fig. 6.16).

Remove the casing of the water drainage box.
Remove the engine compartment seal and the bar in the brake booster area.
Remove the wall from the water drainage box.

Remove the plug from the brake pressure sensor.
Remove the plug from the float warning indicator sensor.
Unscrew the ground wire from the ground point on the body behind the electrical box, remove the cable harness behind the brake booster from the holder and set it aside.
Remove the junction box on the left in the water drainage box from its mounting and set it as far to the side as possible (Fig. 6.17).

Place a sufficient number of lint-free rags in the water drain box in the area of the brake master cylinder.
Remove as much brake fluid as possible from the brake fluid reservoir using the filling and bleeding device VAS 5234 or the filling and bleeding device VAG 1869/4.
For vehicles with a manual transmission, remove the clutch master cylinder hose and plug it.
Remove the brake fluid reservoir. To do this, press the latches on the reservoir outward and simultaneously remove the reservoir from the plug.
Remove the front left brake line from the retainer on the master cylinder.
Unscrew the brake pipes from the master cylinder, close the brake pipes using plugs 1H0 698 311 A.
Loosen the nuts on the master cylinder.
Carefully remove the brake master cylinder from the brake booster.
Remove the diaphragm stroke potentiometer.
Remove the vacuum hose from the brake booster.
Remove the brake lines from the triple retainer on the brake booster.
Disconnect the front left brake line in the front left wheel arch.
Loosen the nuts on the brake booster (Fig. 6.18).

Carefully remove the brake booster from the plenum box.
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
NOTE: Hold the push rod ball head in front of the fastener and press the brake pedal toward the brake booster until the ball head snaps into place with an audible click.
After installation, bleed the brake system and clutch.
After bleeding the brake system, it is necessary to perform a basic adjustment of the brake pressure sensor G201.
VAS 5051 connect and select the function.
Adjust the brake light/brake pedal switch sensor.
