ATTENTION: It is necessary to remove the negative terminal from the battery. The wheels must be installed in the Straight position. Failure to comply with these conditions may result in failure of the airbag system during further operation!
Move the lever under the steering column down. Lower the steering column as far as possible and remove it. Turn the lever under the steering column up, returning it to its original position. Remove the airbag from the steering wheel. Remove the steering wheel. Remove the steering column paddle shifter trim. Remove the steering column paddle shifters. Remove the footwell air duct located under the steering column. Disconnect connector "1".

Remove the cable channel "1" under the steering column. To do this, slightly pry up the locking lug "arrow" and remove the cable channel from the steering column guide.

Unscrew the nuts "arrows" and remove the footwell trim "1".

Loosen bolt "1" and remove cardan joint "2" from the steering gear shaft.

Remove the ground cable "arrow" and cable "1" from the steering column. Unscrew bolts "2".

Unscrew bolt "1" and remove safety frame element for clutch pedal "2". Unscrew bolt "3" and remove safety frame element for brake pedal "4". Slightly lower the steering column, then carefully pull it up.

Installation
Hang the steering column on the support bracket using the technological holes "arrows A". Align the steering column relative to the support bracket. Tightening torques
| Universal joint to steering shaft. Use only new bolt | 30 Nm |
| Steering column to support bracket | 20 Nm |
After performing the following work, it is necessary to check the basic installation of the steering angle sensor G85: after removing or replacing the steering angle sensor "G85", after removing or replacing the steering column; after removing or replacing the steering gear; after changing the angular position of the steering wheel on the steering shaft.
Checking the steering column for damage
Check for external damage to the steering column parts. Turn the steering column shaft to ensure there is no jamming or excessive resistance when turning. Check the ability to adjust the steering column in length and height.
