Checking injectors (VW Lt 2d)

1. Disconnect the wiring connector from the injector being tested.

2. Check the resistance between the contacts of the injector wiring connector (figure 4A.21).

Set value: 0.1-0.6 Ohm.

3. If the specified value is not achieved, replace the faulty injector.

4. If the specified value is reached, connect the VAG 1598/30 tester to the engine control unit wiring harness. Check the wires between the tester and the connector for continuity (figure 4A.22):
  • cylinder 1: contact 1 + socket 5/05, contact 2 + socket 5/04;
  • cylinder 2: contact 1 + socket 5/07, contact 2 + socket 5/04;
  • cylinder 3: contact 1 + socket 5/09, contact 2 + socket 5/01;
  • cylinder 4: contact 1 + socket 5/03, contact 2 + socket 5/01.

5. Check the connector wires for short circuits, short circuits to the positive or negative battery terminals.

Set value: ∞ Ohm.

6. If there are no faults in the wires, replace the CDI injection system control unit.
