1. Disconnect the wiring connector from the fuel pressure regulating valve.

2. Measure the resistance between the valve contacts (figure 4A.23). Set value: 2.6-2.9 Ohm.

3. If the specified value is not achieved, replace the fuel pressure regulating valve.

4. If the specified value is reached, connect the VAG 1598/30 tester to the engine control unit wiring harness. Check the wires between the tester and the connector for continuity (figure 4A.22): pin 1 + socket 1/01, pin 2 + socket 3/38.

5. Check the connector wires for short circuits, short circuits to the positive or negative battery terminals.

Set value: ∞ Ohm.

6. If there are no faults in the wires, replace the CDI injection system control unit.
