List of parts of the piston group with technological notes on repair to figure VC3.013:
1. Piston rings:
- the ring locks must be positioned at an angle of 120° relative to each other;
- removal and installation using piston ring pliers;
- the "TOP" marking must be directed towards the piston bottom;
- check the thermal gap before installation (gap in the lock);
- checking the height clearance between the groove and the ring.
2. Piston with combustion chamber:
- mark the mounting position and cylinder assignment;
- the arrow on the piston bottom should point towards the timing drive;
- When installing, use a piston ring compressor;
- If cracks or scuffs appear on the piston skirt, replace the piston;
- measure the piston protrusions from the cylinder block in position.
3. Piston pin:
- if installation is difficult, heat the piston to approximately 60°C;
4. Retaining ring.
5. Connecting rod:
- mark the cylinder affiliation with a colored pencil at the points (A);
- installation position: mark (B) must face the timing drive;
- the connecting rod is made by breaking off the caps from the connecting rod blank, be careful - even minor damage to the fracture surface is unacceptable.
6. Insert:
- the upper and lower liners are not interchangeable: the upper (facing the piston) made of more wear-resistant material; marking: black stripe on the working surface, at the edge of the joint;
- do not swap previously used liners;
- install in the center;
- check the reliability of the fixation;
- maximum axial clearance during wear: 0.37 mm;
- measure the radial clearance in the connecting rod bearing using a plastic Ptastigage gauge:
- wear limit: 0.08 mm;
- when measuring the radial clearance, do not rotate the crankshaft.
7. Cylinder block:
- check the cylinder diameter before assembly.
8. Connecting rod bearing cap:
- install in accordance with the marks.
9. Nozzle for cooling the piston with oil.
10. Injector mounting screw: 25 Nm (install without sealant).
11. Connecting rod bearing cap fastening screw: 30 Nm and tighten by turning 1/4 turn (90°):
- replace with a new one during assembly;
- lubricate the threads and bearing surface;
- to check the radial clearance, use the old mounting screws.
