Caution! Measuring the cylinder diameter is not permitted if the engine is mounted on a stand, as this may result in incorrect measurement results due to elastic deformation of the cylinder block.
Checking the cylinder diameter (VW Caddy 3)
Take measurements crosswise in three places in the transverse (A) and longitudinal (B) directions. Deviations from the nominal dimensions should not be more than 0.10 mm.
