For the flawless operation of the engine, it is very important that the contacts of the ignition distributor are in good condition. Over time, the contact surfaces burn out, making it difficult to start the engine. Severely burnt contacts need to be replaced (in any case, this should be done every 20,000 km).
Please note: The breaker contacts with a black painted cam have a lifespan of approximately 30,000 km. They should be checked every 10,000 km. During maintenance, the cam on the breaker contact should also be lubricated.
Spark plugs need to be replaced every 20,000 km. To install, the spark plugs are screwed into the cylinder head by hand and then tightened with a wrench.
The distributor cap, ignition coil and high-tension wires must always be kept dry to avoid leakage currents.
