Removal



Remove the ignition distributor.

Remove the fuel pump (see section "Removal and installation the fuel pump").

Remove the coil spring from the ignition distributor drive.

Remove the drive using a special tool while rotating to the left.

Carefully remove the washers from the bottom of the drive shaft. With the engine installed, this is best done using a magnet, and with the engine removed, by rotating the engine 180°. To prevent the washers from falling into the engine, you can thread them onto a wire hook.

Installation



Before installation, check the working surfaces of the oil pump drive eccentric, as well as the drive gear rims for wear. Replace worn parts.

Set the ignition timing for cylinder 1. To do this, turn the crankshaft using the V-belt so that the ignition timing mark on the belt pulley coincides with the joint of the engine housing halves (see right arrow).



Carefully install the washers from the bottom of the drive shaft using a screwdriver.

Install the drive shaft so that the spline located in the middle of its end is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the engine, and the smaller segment is directed towards the belt pulley.

Install the spring using wire.

Install the ignition distributor.
