Installing the ignition distributor (VW Polo 3)

1. Align the TDC marks on flywheel A or drive disk B (Fig. 5.56).



2. Align the TDC marks on the crankshaft pulley (Fig. 5.57).



3. Align the hole for the oil pump shaft with the threaded hole (Fig. 5.58).



4. Insert the distributor so that the TDC mark of cylinder No.1 on the rotor aligns with the mark on the distributor housing (Fig. 5.59). Before installation, wipe the distributor cover and check for cracks and burrs; replace it if necessary.





5. Check and adjust the ignition timing.
