Checking the ignition coil (VW Polo 3)

1. Disconnect the connector and high-voltage wire from the ignition coil.

2. Check the resistance between terminals 1 and 15 of the primary winding using a VAG 1526 hand-held multimeter (Fig. 5.63). Specific resistance: 0.5-0.7 Ohm.

2. Check the resistance between terminals 1 and 15 of the primary winding using a VAG 1526…

3. Check the resistance between terminals 4 and 15 of the secondary winding. Specification resistance: 3-4 kOhm.

4. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the ignition coil.
