Insert a screwdriver from above into the groove of the V-belt pulley and unscrew the hex nut of the pulley.

Remove the V-belt.

Installation and tensioning

Check the V-belt before installation. If the belt is cracked or damaged, replace it.

Belt tension is determined by the order of the spacer washers.

Belt tension is determined by the order of the spacer washers.

Adjust the tension of the V-belt by installing more or less spacers between the halves of the belt pulley. The tension increases when the washers are removed and decreases when they are inserted.

Caution! Place all washers not inserted between the belt pulley halves between the rear half of the pulley and the nut. The total number of washers on the hub must remain constant.

When tightening the nut, hold the pulley with a screwdriver.

Caution! The rear half of the belt pulley has a notch that must engage with the protrusion on the top half of the pulley.

Check the tension of the V-belt. A new, correctly tensioned belt should deflect by 5 mm when pressed with a finger in the middle of the span between the pulleys, and a belt that has been in use should deflect by approximately 10 mm.
