Removal air from the fuel system (VW Passat B4)

After each depressurization of the fuel system, it is necessary to remove air from it as follows:

• place a container under the fuel filter to collect the fuel;
• unscrew the purge screw on the fuel filter;
• crank the engine with the starter until clean fuel without bubbles appears from under the screw;
• tighten the purge screw;
• turn on the starter for 10-15 seconds, simultaneously pressing the fuel supply control pedal several times until it stops. If the engine does not start, bleed the fuel system again.

Make sure that the fuel flowing through the transparent hose from the high-pressure fuel pump to the fuel filter does not contain bubbles.
