Approximately one minute after the engine is started, the indication for maintenance required disappears.
The Volkswagen service company, which carries out maintenance after work, using special equipment VAG 1551, sets the service indicator to its original (zero) position.
If the maintenance was not carried out by a Volkswagen service company, the service indicator must be reset in the following order.
Resetting
1. With the ignition off, press and hold down the reset button (1) under the speedometer (2 - indicator of daily mileage).
2. Switch on the ignition and release the zero button only when dashes appear on the display - one of the images for the required maintenance. If you press the reset button again, the service indicator will switch to the service INSP mode.
3. Turn the minute button for setting the clock with a digital display to the right, and pull the button out for a clock with an arrow display. The following will appear on the display "service - ".
4. Switch off the ignition.
Warning: When the battery is disconnected, the service indicator readings are saved after maintenance.
Warning: If the speedometer is replaced after repair, the service indicator must be reprogrammed. This operation must be carried out by a Volkswagen workshop. If the service indicator has not been programmed again, it is necessary to carry out maintenance work on the vehicle according to "service book", not by the service-indicator.
