Replacing the battery in the remote control key (VW Golf 4)

Remote control key components

• 1 - head;
• 2 - lower battery;
• 3 - contact plate;
• 4 - top battery;
• 5 - lid;
• 6 - key

Execution order

Warning: When removing the battery, check the marks to see if the battery connection polarity is correct, otherwise, apply marks.

1. Using a thin screwdriver blade, remove the heads (1) from the key (2).



2. Press the latches on both sides of the head and remove the head cover.





3. Use a screwdriver to press the latch (2) and remove the top battery (1).



4. Remove the contact plate (1) by turning it so that the two cut edges are positioned opposite the latches and, using a screwdriver blade, remove it from the head.

5. Remove the bottom battery.

6. Install the lower battery into the head so that the positive pole of the battery is facing down. There is a (+) sign on the positive pole of the battery.

7. Place the contact plate and the top battery on the battery with the positive pole facing down until the latches click into place.

8. Place the cover on the head until the latches snap into place.

9. Install and secure the head into the key.
