In the suspension arm, the ball joint and rubber-metal bushings can be replaced. The ball joint is attached to the steering knuckle with three bolts inserted from below and secured from above with self-locking nuts, with a plate underneath (see fig. 399). During installation, the nuts are tightened with a torque of 25 Nm. Replacement of rubber-metal bushings should be carried out in a car repair shop. Repair of the steering knuckle is associated with the replacement of the bearing or wheel hub. The spring, bolt and shock absorber cannot be repaired and must be replaced if damaged.
The spring and shock absorber can be replaced separately, which will not change the characteristics of the suspension. However, attention should be paid to the correct selection of parts.
