Replace the non-electric rearview mirror from August 1987 as follows:
Use a wide spatula to press the mirror glass, first from below and then from above. The glass is only attached with a latch. Protect the edge of the glass from damage with adhesive tape.
Insert the new mirror glass into the guide pin and press firmly. Press the mirror only in the middle, putting on gloves first to avoid damaging your hands if the mirror breaks.
On vehicles manufactured before August 1987, remove and install the non-electric rearview mirror as follows.
Removal
From the interior side, remove handle 5 (figure 463) mirror installations and corrugated cover.

Remove the door trim.
Unscrew the mirror installation lever.
Remove the cover.
Unscrew the outside mirror and pull it out with the mirror adjustment lever.
Installation
Insert the mirror mounting mechanism through the hole in the door.
Place and screw the mirror with the gasket.
Put the overlay on.
Remove the protective film from the inside of the door near the mirror installation mechanism.
Screw on the installation lever.
Check the functioning of the mirror installation mechanism,
Install the interior door trim.
Install the corrugated cover and mirror installation handle.
