Attention! After disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, the power windows operate without force limitation. This can result in serious injury due to crushing!
Note: The following description is for the front left door power window. Other power windows are positioned in the same way by actuating the corresponding switch on the driver's door.
To position the power windows, follow these steps:
- Completely close all windows and doors.
- Turn on the ignition.
- While pressing and holding the switch in the driver's door, fully lower the front left side window.
- While pulling and holding the switch, fully raise the side window again and then release the switch.
- Pull the switch again within 1 second. Now, when the switch is pressed, the side window should go down by itself, and when the switch is pulled, the side window should go up by itself.
- Switch off the ignition.
Front wiper blades, checking correct end position
Every second time it is switched off, the wiper motor returns to a different starting position. The edges of the brushes, therefore, are adjacent to the glass on the other side.
To do this, the windscreen wiper drive passes the initial position when the brushes move down and then moves the wiper blades slightly up. In such an intermediate starting position, the wiper crank cannot be adjusted.
The test must be carried out in the end position in which the wiper motor shaft runs straight and without dropping into the end position. If necessary, turn on the wiper again.
Turn the windshield wiper on and off so that the brushes come to their original position.
Switch off the ignition.
Check the position of the ends of the wiper blades in relation to the plenum box cover on the lower edge of the windshield.
If necessary, adjust the position of the brush leash.
Rear wiper blades: checking the correct end position
Lifting tailgate:
- Turn the rear window wiper on and off until the wiper comes to its original position.
- Check the position of the end of the brush relative to the lower edge of the glass.
- Adjust wiper arms if necessary.
Rear hinged doors:
- Turn the rear window wiper on and off until the wipers return to their original position.
- Check if the brushes are vertical.
- Adjust wiper arms if necessary.
Check the operation and adjustment of the windshield wiper/washer and headlamp cleaners.
Checking the antifreeze content in washer fluid concentrate with antifreeze (G 052 164) windshield wiper/washer, adding (if necessary).
Windshield wiper with washer: check the installation of nozzles, if necessary, adjust.
