Headlights


- Raise the hood and place it on a support stand.
- When replacing the bulb in the right headlight, first remove the cover. To do this, press the clips in the direction indicated by the arrows and remove the cover.
- Disconnect the connecting clamp (1)
- Turn the locking ring (2) clockwise and remove the bulb (3) from the headlight housing.
- Install the new bulb so that the mounting tabs on the headlight housing engage with the recesses on the bulb socket.
- Reinstall the retaining ring so that its recesses engage with the mounting tabs on the headlight housing.
- Turn the retaining ring clockwise until it is firmly seated.
- Reconnect the connecting clamp.
- Install the lid.
- Check the headlight adjustment.
Front turn signal lamp/front parking lamp

- Remove the Philips screw and pull out the headlight.
- Then move the headlight in the direction of the arrow. Turn the bulb holder counterclockwise and remove it.
- Gently press the bulb into the socket, twist and remove it. Insert the new bulb. Push the socket into the headlight housing and twist it clockwise until it is tightly seated.
- When reinstalling the headlight housing, first insert the tab into the slot in the bumper, and then tighten the screw.

Side light bulbs
- Remove the Philips screw.
- Pull the headlight housing out of the fender by moving it in a rearward direction (shown by arrow) until the tongue on the body comes out of the wing slot.
- Turn the socket counterclockwise and remove it from the housing.
- Remove the defective bulb and install a new one. Turn the socket clockwise until it is tightly seated.
- When reinstalling the headlight housing, first insert the tab into the slot in the wing, and then tighten the screw.
Rear turn signal, brake light/tail light or reversing light

The lamps are accessible through the luggage compartment.
- Squeeze both latches (indicated by arrows) lamp holder and open the conductor clamp. Remove the lamp holder.
- Gently press down on the bulb, twist and remove it from the socket.
- When installing the lamp holder, make sure both tabs engage properly. Do not pinch the wires.

Brake light bulb installed in the rear window
- Squeeze the clamps (indicated by arrows) on both sides of the brake light housing in an inward direction and remove the housing.
- Remove the defective lamp and install a new one.
- Reinstall the housing.
Fog lights
The lamp must be replaced from the rear of the headlight with the vehicle raised. It is best to have this type of work carried out by a Volkswagen dealer.
Number plate lights/lamps

- Remove the two Philips screws and remove the cover.
- Gently press the bulb into the socket, twist and remove.
- Install a new lamp.
Do not overtighten the screws to avoid cracking the glass cover.
The illumination of the vehicle number plate is satisfactory only if both lamps are lit.
Ceiling lamp for interior lighting

- To remove the lamp, press on the housing while squeezing the spring clip in the direction indicated by the arrow and pull out the housing.
- Remove the lamp
- Install a new lamp.
- Install the housing in reverse order.
Luggage compartment light

- Carefully pry the housing out using a flat-blade screwdriver inserted into the recess as a lever.
- Remove the lamp.
- Insert a new bulb.
- Place the housing first with the side where the conductor passes, and then press on the other side.
