12V/21/5W - Front turn signal and front parking light
12 V / 3 W - position lamp
12V/21W - rear turn signal, brake light
12 V / 5 W - central brake light, number plate light
12V/10W - tail light
Headlights
- Raise the hood and set it on a support stand.
- When replacing a bulb in the right headlight, first remove the cover. To do this, push the clips in the direction indicated by the arrows and remove the cover.
- Disconnect the connecting clip (1)
- Rotate retaining ring (2) clockwise and remove the bulb (3) from the headlight housing.
- Install the new bulb so that the mounting tabs on the headlight housing engage with the notches on the bulb socket.
- Reinstall the retaining ring so that its recesses engage with the mounting tabs on the headlight housing.
- Turn the retaining ring clockwise until it is firmly seated.
- Reconnect the connection clamp.
- Install the cover.
- Check headlight adjustment.
Front Turn Signal/Front Parking Lamp
- Remove the Philips screw and pull out the headlight.
- Then move the headlight in the direction of the arrow. Turn the bulb holder counterclockwise and remove it.
- Gently press the bulb into the socket, turn and remove it. Insert a new lamp. Push the cartridge into the headlight housing and turn it clockwise until a snug fit is achieved.
- When reinstalling the headlight housing, first insert the tongue into the slot in the bumper and then fasten the screw.
Position lamps
- Remove the Philips screw.
- Pull the headlight housing out of the fender by moving it to the rear (shown by arrow) until the tab on the body comes out of the slot in the wing.
- Turn the socket counterclockwise and remove from the housing.
- Remove the defective lamp and install a new one. Rotate the socket clockwise until a tight fit is achieved.
- When reinstalling the headlight housing, first insert the tongue into the slot in the fender and then fasten the screw.
Rear turn signal, brake light/tail light or reversing light
The lamps are accessed through the luggage compartment.
- Squeeze both latches (indicated by arrows) lamp socket and open the conductor clamp. Get the cartridge.
- Gently press on the bulb, turn and remove it from the socket.
- When installing the lamp socket, make sure both latches are properly engaged. Do not pinch the wires.
Stop lamp installed in the rear window
- Squeeze the latches (indicated by arrows) on both sides of the brake light housing towards the inside and remove the housing.
- Remove the defective lamp and install a new one.
- Reinstall the chassis.
Fog lights
The bulb must be replaced from the rear of the headlight with the vehicle raised. It is best to have this type of work carried out by a Volkswagen dealer.
Number plate lamps/lanterns
- Loosen the two Philips screws and remove the cover.
- Carefully push the bulb into the socket, turn and remove.
- Install a new lamp.
Do not overtighten the screws to avoid cracking the glass cover.
The license plate lighting is satisfactory only if both lamps are on.
Interior dome light
- To remove the lamp, push down on the housing while squeezing the spring clip in the direction of the arrow and pull out the housing.
- Remove the lamp
- Install a new lamp.
- Install the housing in reverse order.
Luggage compartment lamp
- Carefully «pry out the housing using a flat-blade screwdriver inserted into the recess as a lever.
- Remove the lamp.
- Insert a new lamp.
- Install the housing first with the side where the conductor passes, and then push on its other side.
