The Digital Idle Stabilization (DLS) system is installed on the following engines: engines with MV indexes (1.9 l/44 kW), DJ (2.1 l/82 kW) and GW engines (1.9 l/66 kW) release since 7.84, see also table specified ignition timing values.

The digital idle speed stabilization system (DLS) maintains the engine speed constant even when the engine receives additional load, for example when additional consumers such as air conditioning are switched on. Stabilization occurs by shifting the ignition timing to an earlier time. DLS only operates in the speed range from 600 to 800 rpm. At all other values, the system does not work. When the DLS is inactive, the engine starts poorly. In this case, the DLS system can be disabled. To do this, disconnect the idle speed stabilization system switching unit connector and connect them together.

When adjusting the ignition timing, idle speed and CO content, also disconnect the connectors of the idle speed control system switching unit and connect them together.

The DLS system is located in the engine compartment on the left bulkhead.

Disconnect the connectors of the idle speed control system switching unit and connect them together.

After making adjustments, reconnect the connectors to the system.

Caution: If you have difficulty starting the engine, disconnect the connectors of the idle speed stabilization system switching unit, connect them together and start the engine. If the engine starts, check the position of the sockets and pins of both connectors; they should not be damaged or deformed. Otherwise, replace the DLS switching unit.
