Digital idle stabilization system (DLS) keeps the speed constant even when the engine receives an additional load, for example, when additional consumers such as air conditioning are turned on. Stabilization occurs by shifting the ignition timing to an earlier one. DLS only works in the 600 to 800 rpm range. For all different values, the system does not work. With the DLS system inactive, the engine does not start well. In this case, the DLS system may be disabled. To do this, disconnect the connector of the switching unit of the idle speed stabilization system and connect them together.
When adjusting the ignition timing, idle speed and CO content, also disconnect the connectors of the switching unit of the idle speed stabilization system and connect them together.
The DLS system is located in the engine compartment on the bulkhead on the left.
Disconnect the connectors of the switching unit of the idle speed stabilization system and connect them together.
After making adjustments, reconnect the connectors to the system.
Attention: In case of difficulties with starting the engine, disconnect the connectors of the switching unit of the idle speed stabilization system, connect them together and start the engine. If the engine starts at the same time, check the position of the sockets and pins of both connectors, they must not be damaged or deformed. Otherwise, replace the DLS switch unit.
