NOTE: Replace o-rings. Do not reuse the drained oil. Oil for hydraulic systems. Part No. G 002 000.
Removing
WARNING: When carrying out all assembly work, in particular in the engine compartment, due to the tight layout, pay attention to the following. Lines of all kinds, such as fuel, hydraulic, activated carbon tank system, cooling systems, refrigerant, vacuum pipes and electrical lines must be laid as they were originally laid.
Provide free space for access to all moving and hot components.
Carefully remove the decorative cover from the 4 locking screws (pic. 5.31).
Mark the running direction of the V-ribbed belt.
Remove poly V-belt.
Loosen the bolts while holding the V-ribbed belt pulley with a 3212 trunnion wrench (pic. 5.32).
Clamp the suction line with hose clamps up to 25 mm and remove from the vane pump.
Unscrew the hollow bolt.
Unscrew the bolts and remove the vane pump from the mount (pic. 5.33).
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order, paying attention to the following.
Fill the vane pump with hydraulic oil.
Pour oil through the suction port of the vane pump.
Turn the hub by hand until oil comes out on the pressure side.
Reinstall the vane pump, tightening the front bolts first.
Install the V-ribbed belt and check the belt pulleys for misalignment (pic. 5.34).

NOTE: When installing the V-ribbed belt, make sure it fits correctly in the pulleys.
Bleed the steering system.
Check the oil level of the hydraulic system and top up if necessary.
Check the steering system for leaks.
Tightening torques
V-belt pulley on vane pump - 25 Nm.
Hollow bolt to vane pump - 35 Nm.
Vane pump to mount - 25 Nm.
NOTE: Use new o-rings.
