Removing
Clamp the steering column in a vise as shown.
Mark the position of the top in relation to the bottom.
Pull the bottom with the top with a strong sharp movement in the direction of the arrow (pic. 5.8).
Remove the sealing collar from the bottom.
Installation
Lightly lubricate the seal (pic. 5.9).
Before installation, check the working surface of the guide at the bottom for dirt and scratches (pic. 5.10).
If there are scratches on the working surface, then the steering column must be replaced, otherwise sufficient sealing between the steering column and the sealing collar will not be ensured.
Slightly rotating the cuff, install it on the lower part, as shown in figure 5.10.
Assemble the steering column so that the marks match up and the parts of the steering column are connected with one sharp movement.
If the steering column is properly assembled, the lower part cannot be pulled off the upper part with normal force.
Install the steering column.
