Removing
1. Remove the ribbed belt.
2. Remove the vibration damper and the top and bottom of the timing belt cover.
3. Loosen the camshaft pulley bolt.
4. Loosen the tension roller and remove the timing belt.
5. Remove the camshaft pulley.
6. Disconnect the rear timing belt guard from the cylinder head.
7. Remove the cylinder head cover.
8. Remove the distributor of ignition.
9. First remove bearing caps 1, 3 and 5 (pic. 3.15). Then loosen caps 2 and 4 gradually and crosswise.
Installation
10. Install the cap so that the tab (arrow A) and cover number (arrow B) located on the side of the exhaust manifold (pic. 3.15).
11. Grease with oil contact surfaces of a camshaft.
12. Install the camshaft.
13. Tighten caps 2 and 4 gradually and crosswise to a torque of 6 Nm. Lubricate caps 1 and 5 with AMV 174 004 01 sealant. Fit bearing caps 1, 3 and 5 and tighten their fastening nuts to 6 Nm. At the same time, install the ignition distributor to center the cover 5.
14. Tighten all cap nuts another 1/4.
15. Insert cover bolts 5 and tighten them to 10 Nm.
16. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Attention! After installing the camshaft, you can not start the engine for 30 minutes, you must give time to settle the hydraulic lifters.
