NOTES:

Bleeding the brake systems of cars equipped with ABS is carried out in the same way as for cars without this system.

New DOT 4 brake fluid is used.

Genuine VW/Audi brake fluid meets this specification.

Brake fluid is poisonous. Do not allow brake fluid to come into contact with paintwork, as this will damage it.

Brake fluid is hygroscopic - it attracts moisture from the surrounding air. Brake fluid may only be stored in closed containers.

If drops of brake fluid are found, rinse with plenty of water.

To bleed the hydraulic unit, it is necessary to create a pressure of at least 2 bar.

Bleeding the brake system using the VAS 5234 brake filling and bleeding device or the VAG 1869 brake filling and bleeding device.

NOTE: If there is no brake fluid in one of the chambers of the expansion tank (for example, due to the leakage of the corresponding circuit), it is necessary to first perform a preliminary bleeding of the brake system.

Preliminary pumping

Brembo brake calipers have two bleeder nipples. Always bleed using both bleeder nipples.

First bleed the external bleed nipple.

Connect the brake filling and bleeding device VAS 5234 or VAG 1869.

Pumping sequence

Bleed the front right and left calipers at the same time.

Bleed the rear left and right brake calipers at the same time.

The bleed nipples with the attached bleed tank hoses must remain open until the fluid starts to flow out without bubbles.

Then, using the "Basic setting" function, bleed the hydraulic unit again using the VAS 5051 tester.

Enable Basic Setup Mode (for bleeding the brake system).

Connect VAS 5051 and select the function.

Then you should bleed the brake system again.

After bleeding the brake system, it is necessary to perform a basic adjustment of the pressure sensor in the brake system.
