- unscrew the cap of the expansion tank;
Attention! Place a thick rag around the cooling system cap and turn the cap a quarter of a turn first to release the steam.
- put the front of the car on supports and remove the protection of the engine compartment;

- disconnect the hoses from the air cooler (pic. 459);

- disconnect the lower coolant hose (pic. 460) and drain the coolant.
To ensure there are no air bubbles in the cooling system:
- fill the coolant into the expansion tank up to the top edge and close the cover of the expansion tank;
- start the engine and let it run until the fan turns on;
Pic. 461. You can check the coolant level in the cooling system by looking at the expansion tank
- check the coolant level in the expansion tank. Add coolant if its level is below the mark in the expansion tank (pic. 461). The coolant level may be slightly above the mark «Max» if the engine is hot.
Once the engine has cooled down, the coolant level should be between the upper and lower control marks on the expansion tank. If this does not happen, then add coolant.
Attention! Do not change or top up coolant when the engine is hot, as engine damage may result.
