The coolant pump cannot be repaired, so if it fails, replace it. Check pump for leaks (leaks are most often marked with rust) and rotate the hub to check the condition of the bearing. To replace the pump, disconnect the thermostat housing (pic. 468) and take out the thermostat. Loosen the pump bolts and remove the pump. Remove the gasket between the two halves of the pump housing.
Install a new gasket before installing the pump. Replace the thermostat housing o-ring.
