1. Unscrew the oil pressure sensor and screw the sensor with adapter 1342/7 into the tester (figure 4.39). Screw adapter 1342/6 of the VAG 1342 tester into the hole of the oil pressure sensor in the cylinder block.

2. Connect the brown lead 3 of the tester to the negative terminal of the battery.

3. Connect the VAG 1527 diode tester to the positive battery terminal and to the oil pressure sensor using the VAG 1594 auxiliary wire. The tester light should come on.

4. Start the engine and let it idle. After warming up to operating temperature, the oil pressure should not be lower than 1.0 bar.

5. Turn off the engine.

6. Start it again and slowly increase the engine speed. At a pressure of 1.0 bar the light should go out. If this does not happen, replace the oil pressure sensor. At 3800 rpm and an oil temperature of 90', the oil pressure should be 4.0 bar.
