The basic operations for checking the oil pressure and the oil pressure sensor are given in subsection 2.1.10. This section only lists the differences that apply to diesel engines.
To check the oil pressure sensor, start the engine and gradually increase the engine speed.
On a TDI diesel engine, with an oil pressure of 0.75 - 1.05 bar, the LED should go out.
On an SDI diesel engine, at an overpressure of 0.55 - 0.85 bar, the LED should go out.
