Vacuum booster — removal and installation (VW Lt 28)

1. The vacuum booster is mounted together with the master brake cylinder. It is recommended to disconnect the brake master cylinder fasteners as described in Section 9, and then remove the vacuum booster and master cylinder together as a single structure.

2. Disconnect the booster arm from the pedal arm by removing the mounting pins.

3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the appliance.

4. Loosen and remove the nuts that hold the booster to the mounting bracket and remove the booster together with the master cylinder.

5. Disconnect the master cylinder from the booster.

6. If the amplifier is faulty or does not work, it should be replaced entirely, because with the exception of changing the air filter (see Section 3), it is impossible to purchase spare parts for it separately.

7. When installing a new vacuum booster, make sure that the projection of its lever corresponds to that shown in Figure 9.29. and adjust its length if necessary by loosening the fork lock nut and turning the fork.

8. Installation is carried out by performing the above steps in reverse order. Bleed the entire brake system after completing the work as described and Section 12.
