Handbrake — adjustment (VW Lt 28)

1. Under normal circumstances, the handbrake is adjusted automatically by the action of the automatic rear brake adjusters. However, due to cable stretch, it will be necessary to tighten the cable periodically if you need to engage the lever more than four clicks to lock the rear wheels.

2. Release the handbrake completely, loosen the nuts on the equalizer until the cable is free.

3. Apply the handbrake to two notches (two clicks).

4. Adjust the cable using the equalizer nuts until it becomes possible to turn the rear wheels by hand, but any further tightening will cause them to begin to lock.

5. Tighten the locking nut on the alignment tool.
