  • Diesel engine: Unscrew the oil filter cap. This will allow engine oil to drain from the filter housing into the engine sump.
  • Using a suction syringe, suck out oil from the engine sump through the dipstick tube.
  • If there is no oil suction syringe, drain the engine oil. To do this, lift the car horizontally on trestles or place it over an inspection pit.

There is a risk of accident when lifting the vehicle! Please read the section "Lifting the vehicle" beforehand.
  • Remove the bottom one engine compartment cover.
  • Place a container under the engine sump to drain the old oil.

Be careful not to let hot oil run down your hand when you unscrew the drain plug. Keep your hand horizontal with your fingers when unscrewing the plug.

  • Unscrew the drain plug from the bottom of the oil pan "arrow" and completely drain the old oil.

Caution: If large amounts of metal shavings and wear products are found in the engine oil, this indicates that, for example, the main or connecting rod bearings are seized. To avoid subsequent damage, after repairing the engine, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the oil passages. Additionally, if available, replace the oil cooler.



  • After this, tighten the drain plug with a new sealing ring. Caution: Do not exceed the permissible tightening torque, as this may lead to leaks or damage.

Tightening torque: 30 Nm.
  • Lower the car.
