Caution: The old oil filter or replacement filter element must be disposed of as special waste.
1.4L AUA/ AUB/BBY/BBZ petrol engine
- Use a 30 mm wrench on the hexagon -arrow- to loosen the oil filter from below.
- Then unscrew the filter by hand. Clean up spilled engine oil with a rag.
- Clean the oil filter flange on the crankcase with a cleaning agent. It is possible to remove the sealing gasket of the filter remaining on the flange.
- Lubricate the sealing rubber ring of the new oil filter with a thin layer of clean engine oil.
- Tighten a new oil filter only by hand. After the filter seal is in contact with the crankcase flange, tighten the filter an additional ½ turn in the tightening direction. Follow the instructions on the filter housing.
1.2-/1.4L petrol engine, AWY/AZQ/AXU
- Unscrew cover -5- from above using a 36 mm socket, e.g. HAZET 2169-36.
- Remove cover together with replaceable filter element -1-. Clean up spilled engine oil with a rag.
- Remove the old replacement filter element from the cover
- Replace O-rings -2/3/1- on filter cover.
- Insert a new filter element.
- Screw on oil filter cap and tighten to 25 Nm.
1.9L SDI diesel engine, ASY
- Unscrew cover -1-, eg with a strap wrench.
- Replace filter element -4- and O-rings -2/3- of filter cover.
- Screw on oil filter cap and tighten to 25 Nm.
1.4-/1.9 l diesel engine with unit injectors, AMF/BAY/ATDAXR
- Unscrew cover -arrow- from above using a 36 mm socket, eg HAZET 2169-36.
- Remove the cover together with the replaceable filter element. Clean up spilled engine oil with a rag.
- Insert a new filter element.
- Fit the oil filter cover with a new O-ring and tighten to 25 Nm.
- Lower the car.
