- do not open the coolant expansion tank cap; the cooling system is under pressure.
Warning: Avoid spilling any liquids on a hot engine. These liquids may ignite.
Warning: Avoid short-circuiting electrical circuits - especially the battery.
Warning: If it is necessary to carry out control work on a running engine, there is an additional danger from rotating parts such as V-belt pulleys, generator pulley, cooling system fan, etc – - and from high voltage in the ignition system.
Warning: If work on the fuel system or electrical equipment is required:
- always disconnect the battery from the vehicle's electrical system;
- do not smoke near the engine;
- never work near open flames;
- always keep a fire extinguisher on hand and ready to use.
Warning: When adding liquids, do not mix them up under any circumstances, otherwise serious disruptions in the operation of units and systems cannot be avoided.
In order to detect seal defects in a timely manner, it is necessary to regularly inspect the surface of the place where the car is parked. If stains of oil or other liquid operating material are found, the car should be sent to a Volkswagen service center to identify and eliminate the fault.
