- 3 - bolt 50 Nm,
- 4 - bolts 2 pcs., 10 Nm,
- 5 - seal,
- 6 - flexible cable,
- 7 - mounting hole,
- 8 - bolts 2 pcs., 10 Nm,
- 9 - hole for special tool VW-3369
Arrangement of bolts of fastening of the heat exchanger of system of the amplifier of a steering
Removing
1. Remove the engine sound absorbing cover.
2. Remove the headlights with the front direction indicators.
3. Disconnect the flexible cable from the hood release lock.
4. Disconnect electrical connectors.
5. Remove the front bumper.
6. Unscrew the side guide brackets from the wings.
7. Disconnect the hoses from the engine air heat exchanger.
8. Drain the coolant from the cooling system and disconnect the pipes of the cooling system.
Warning: Do not let the air conditioning condenser and oil heat exchanger hang on the pipes. Also, do not kink the pipes.
9. Air conditioner. Unscrew the capacitor from the bracket and, without disconnecting the pipelines from it, tie it to the engine compartment with soft wire.
10. Unscrew the power steering system oil heat exchanger from the front panel and tie it to the engine compartment using a soft wire, see fig. Arrangement of bolts of fastening of the heat exchanger of system of the amplifier of a steering.
11. Unscrew the top (4) and side (8) front panel mounting bolts, see fig. Elements of fastening of the forward panel of a body.
12. Remove the seal from both sides at the top of the front panel.
13. Have an assistant support the front panel.
14. Unscrew the bolts securing the front panel to the side members.
15. Pulling the car forward, remove the front panel.
Installation
1. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
2. Pour coolant into the cooling system.
3. Check and, if necessary, adjust the headlights.
Hood lock bracket adjustment
Install the hood lock bracket so that the distance between it and the right and left fenders of the car are the same. If the fenders or hood were replaced, first center the parts to be installed relative to the vehicle axis.
