* Since January 1996, the car's engine "2E" "Passat CL 115 ch" received the designation "AGG".
Since June 1991, the EZ engine has been designated as "ABN" without any changes to its design or performance.
Since the 1992 model year, in addition to the "RP" model engines, the "ABS" model engine has been installed on vehicles.
Following the entry into force on 1 January 1993 of new legislation in the EEC countries on maximum air pollution standards, "RP" and "ABS" engines are equipped with a comprehensive engine management system "Mono-Motronic", and the cars are equipped with an exhaust gas neutralizer.
