Removal and installation of the clutch release bearing
Do not flush the clutch release bearing. If there is excessive noise when disengaging the clutch, replace the bearing.
Remove the clutch release fork retaining springs.
Remove the clutch release bearing from the guide sleeve and unfasten the retaining clips.
Note. Do not apply grease to the clutch release bearing guide bush.
Slide the clutch release bearing together with the retaining clips onto the guide bushing. Install two mounting springs on the bearing, then on the axis of the clutch release fork.
Make sure that the action of the return spring moves the clutch release fork towards the gearbox housing. Check Distance «A» (see photo) between the clutch fork lever and the stopper of the tip of the cable sheath with the clutch pedal released (see subsection «Design and specifications»).
Clutch pedal free play adjustment
Check the free play of the clutch pedal before disengaging the clutch (see subsection «Design and specifications»). If necessary, adjust the free travel of the clutch pedal with a nut in the area where the cable is attached to the left front suspension strut.
