The oil filter is replaced at the intervals recommended by the operating instructions or during each engine repair. Usually, the device shown in Figure 227 is used to remove the filter, since access to the filter is very difficult. You can use a screwdriver, which is driven into the filter housing from the side and used as a lever.

If the filter bracket has been removed, a new gasket must be installed during assembly without lubricating it. Tighten the filter bracket mounting bolts to 25 Nm.
The filter installation instructions are provided on its body. A new rubber gasket, lightly lubricated with engine oil, should always be installed on the filter flange. The new filter is screwed on by hand - it cannot be tightened with any tool. At the end of the operation, check the oil level in the engine sump and add oil if necessary.
