Oil cooler replacement (VW Golf 2)

The installation location of the oil cooler is shown in figure 224.

To replace the oil cooler, you need to do the following:

• Loosen the oil filter.
• Use a wrench to loosen the nut located under the bottom and remove the oil cooler. Remove the ring control from the bracket.
• Lubricate the mounting surface of the bracket and oil cooler with VW AMW 188100-02 fixing compound and install a new O-ring into the groove.
• Install the oil cooler and tighten the nut to 25 Nm. Connect the oil lines.
• Install the oil filter.
