Starting a gasoline engine
When starting a cold engine, depress the accelerator pedal more than once.
Turn on the starter without depressing the accelerator pedal.
As soon as the engine starts, release the ignition key.
When starting a hot engine, lightly depress the accelerator pedal and hold it in this position.
Diesel engine start
Turn the starter and instrumentation ignition key to position «1».
At the same time, the preheating indicator on the instrument panel will light up. After the indicator goes out, turn on the starter without depressing the accelerator pedal.
If the engine does not start on the first attempt, start the second attempt by turning on the preheating.
Do not turn off the starter until the engine starts to run smoothly. When starting a diesel engine in cold weather, the handle (shown by the arrow in Fig. eleven) pull the trigger located to the left of the steering wheel to the first or second detent position.
When starting the diesel engine in cold weather at an ambient temperature of up to -15°C, fully extend the starting device handle.
At lower air temperatures, do not pull out the starter handle until the engine is running smoothly.
Auxiliary battery start
When starting the engine from an auxiliary battery, connect the wires in the one shown in fig. 12th order. Disconnect the wires in the reverse order.
