The mixture ratio is 2:3 for Central European conditions, 1:1 for the Nordic countries.

Ethylene glycol is usually used as a freeze protection agent. It does not evaporate, does not evaporate.
Concentration (density) coolant anti-freeze is measured by a special instrument.
Equally important is the anti-corrosion agent. It prevents the appearance of scale, rust and other corrosion products in the cooling system.
The coolant filled into the cooling system is used all year round.
It goes without saying that the firm "Volkswagen" recommends antifreeze "G11" (earlier "G10"’). The company also allows the use of imported products marked "according to TL VW 774 A".
It is possible that at a different concentration ns such mixture ratios are obtained, as indicated in the table. Therefore, the instructions on the packaging must be observed. Without fear, you can mix antifreezes produced by different companies.
Checking the antifreeze
The density of a liquid is measured. Due to various additives, the density of the individual components of antifreeze may vary. For an absolutely accurate measurement, you will need a hydrometer. It is immersed in antifreeze. A deviation from the set value equal to 2-3 degrees Celsius is allowed.
Draw some coolant from the expansion tank. The float of the device must be free "swim".
On the float scale you can see up to what temperature the antifreeze does not freeze.
Restoring the antifreeze concentration
In most cases, it turns out that the concentration of antifreeze is insufficient. Then you need to additionally pour concentrated antifreeze. When adding about 3 4 liters of additional concentrated antifreeze, the freezing limit shifts by 10 degrees Celsius (see table above).
Drain 1-2 liters of coolant (see section "Coolant drain"), substituting a container to collect liquid.
Pour in the appropriate amount of concentrated antifreeze; top up, if necessary, the liquid that was previously drained.
Instruction. Antifreeze loses its properties, ages if it stands open in an already started container. Therefore, it should be poured into a container that closes well. The container must be inscribed and securely hidden from children's hands. Anti-freeze agent is poisonous!
