Turn the steering gear to the middle position.
To change the tie rod from the inside, measure the distance between the joints (see fig.).
When connecting the steering rod to the steering gear, the threaded part of the rod must be screwed in so that there is still a gap of 69 mm from the steering gear (pic. up). When replacing the steering rod, the new one must be adjusted to a length of 379 mm (pic. at the bottom).
Loosen the lock nut at the tie rod joint, remove the tie rod.
Now you can, if necessary, remove the cuff of the steering mechanism and replace it with a new one.
When mounting the clamping ring, its lugs must point upwards.
Adjust the new tie rod to a length of 379 mm; if necessary, make adjustments, focusing on the value of the previous steering rod.
Set the right tie rod according to its own measured value, then the toe-in after installation will correspond to the norm.
The change in the toe-in of the wheels is regulated by the tie rod (4); 5 - nut; 1 - tie rod joint.
Tighten the tie rod inner joint locknut.
