Removal and installation a gas strut
Open the luggage compartment door and prop it up. Insert a small screwdriver under the spring clip "2". Move the clip "2" so that the pin arrow can be disconnected. Disconnect the gas strut "1" from the ball pins "3" and "4". After removing the gas strut "1", move the spring clips "2" back into place.

Caution: When installing a used gas strut, care must be taken. To avoid damage, the spring clips must not be pushed out of the recesses completely. This may cause the gas strut to pop out of the mounts, which may result in injury or damage to the body.
