Measuring connecting rod clearance (VW Sharan 1)
This operation is described in detail in paragraph 3.6.2. The measurement is carried out in exactly the same way as determining the clearance in the main bearings using a plastic wire "Plastigage". If it is not there, then you need to measure the inner diameter of the bearings with inserted liners and the diameter of the crankshaft connecting rod journal.
