The oil pan can be removed with the engine installed.

Drain the engine oil.

Remove the crankcase guard.

Unscrew the oil pan and remove the pan gasket if it remains on it.

Fig. 452 shows the fastening of the oil pan. The installation of the oil pan is carried out in the reverse order of the removal process. Please note the following points:
  • thoroughly clean the contact surfaces of the cylinder block and oil pan;
  • tighten the bolts evenly in a crisscross pattern to 25 Nm;
  • if you have not changed the filter, then fill the engine with 4.0 liters of oil. Otherwise, fill the engine with 4.2 liters of oil. Remember the recommendations given regarding excessive amounts of engine oil in the engine. Subsection 4.6 provides specific instructions regarding the use of engine oils, which should also be taken into account.
