Fig. 456. Using the oil filter remover
The oil filter should be replaced in accordance with the recommendations in the vehicle's operating manual. To remove the filter, use either an oil filter puller (Fig. 456) or punch a screwdriver into the filter housing from the side and, using the screwdriver as a lever, unscrew the filter.

If the filter base is removed from the engine, a new gasket must be installed during assembly. Tighten the filter base bolt to 25 N·m. Do not apply any lubricant to the gasket. The method for attaching the oil filter is shown in Fig. 457.
Recommendations for installing the filter are written on the sticker on the filter housing.
Install a new sealing ring on the filter, which should be lightly lubricated around the perimeter. Screw the new filter on by hand, without using any tool to tighten it.
Note: If you use a special key to tighten the filter, then the next time you change the oil, it may turn out that you will have great difficulty unscrewing the old filter.
Check the oil level and add oil to the engine if necessary.
After the car has driven a few kilometers, be sure to check if oil is leaking through the junction of the filter and the filter base.
