Oil radiator — removal and installation (VW Sharan 1)

On a vehicle with a diesel engine, the oil cooler is located between the oil filter and its base. The oil is cooled by the coolant passing through the oil cooler. The advantage of this location of the oil cooler is that cold oil quickly heats up to operating temperature. The oil cooler can only be removed after removing the oil filter and disconnecting the hoses. To do this, unscrew the nut located on its lower surface.



The oil radiator is sealed on the filter base with a sealing ring (Fig. 457). The tightening torque of the nut is 25 N·m.
