Description

The rear axle includes the final drive and differential, which are part of the rear axle and cannot be removed separately.

All operations can be performed without removing the rear axle from the vehicle, however, due to the need for special equipment for disassembly and repair, the work described in this Chapter should be considered as the limit of what is possible for a home mechanic. All other processes should be entrusted to a WV auto repair shop specialist.

The rear axle is of the rigid type with hypoid gears and is supported by leaf springs.

Depending on the model, the bridge may have a semi-floating or fully floating structure.
