Wheel replacement (VW Passat B5)

The spare wheel is located in a recess under the luggage compartment carpet and secured with a holder.

Execution order

1. Remove the carpet covering above the spare wheel in the luggage compartment. Unscrew the spare wheel holder.



2. For safety, place the spare tire under the vehicle near the jacking point.



3. With the vehicle on the ground, remove the wheel cap and loosen the wheel mounting bolts half a turn.





4. Place the jack under the vehicle's jacking point.



5. Turn the jack handle clockwise to raise the car enough to lift the wheel off the ground. Completely unscrew the wheel mounting bolts and remove the wheel.

6. Install the spare tire and secure with bolts, tightening them slightly. Lower the wheel. Tighten the wheel mounting bolts in a diagonal sequence to the required torque.
